Music Room Toolbox
Who makes Music Room Toolbox, why it exists, and how the tools are built for elementary music classrooms.
Music Room Toolbox is a free collection of games and classroom helpers for music teachers. Every tool is made to be put up on a board or projector and used with a whole class right away, with no accounts, downloads, or setup.
Jesse R. Bautista is an elementary music educator, musician, author, and software developer with a passion for making music education accessible, engaging, and innovative. He has been teaching music since February 2020 and has served students in PSJA ISD, Brownsville ISD, and currently Los Fresnos CISD.
Jesse earned his Bachelor of Music Education in 2015 and his Master of Music Education in 2026. His work as an educator focuses on creating meaningful musical experiences for young students while incorporating both traditional music education practices and modern technology.
In 2024, Jesse co-authored Quick and Easy Accordion Book, a resource designed to provide an approachable introduction to learning the accordion. He also created Accordion Castle (accordioncastle.com), an online learning platform dedicated to teaching accordion.
Music teachers spend a lot of time building games, slides, and practice tracks by hand, and many classroom tools are made for general classrooms rather than music rooms. Music Room Toolbox collects the activities music teachers use every week (echo games, dictation, warmups, rhythm reading, centers) in a form that is ready to project and adjust to each class.
The toolbox includes rhythm and solfège listening games (Four Corners, Poison Rhythm, and Poison Solfege), rhythm and melodic dictation, a rhythm randomizer for reading practice, choir and vocal warmups, a breathing guide, a drum-groove metronome, 3D ukulele and bass guides, and a timer for music centers. Each tool has a teacher guide below it. New tools are added as they are built.
