A rhythm game for the music room: students pick an answer to a would-you-rather question, then clap the rhythm under it. Use pictures or notation.
Using Would You Rather in your classroom
Teacher guide · Grades K–5
A would-you-rather question with a rhythm under each answer. Students choose a side of the room, then perform the rhythm under the answer they picked.
How to use it
Choose pictures, notation, or both, and the rhythms to use.
Read the question. Students move to the side of the room for their answer.
Press Play both sides (Space). After a count-in, side 1 performs its rhythm, then side 2.
Tap one answer (or press 1 or 2) to play just that side. Press Next question (N) for a new question and new rhythms.
Tips
Pictures (cat, ap-ple) let pre-readers play before they read notation.
Press New rhythms (R) to keep the question but practice different rhythms.
Press New category to make your own, such as songs the class knows. Your categories are saved in this browser and sit with the others under Questions about.
